Leading golf equipment retailer American Golf, has picked up the prestigious Profit Track100 award for business technology, sponsored by Microsoft, at this years annual Sunday Times Pricewaterhouse Coopers Profit Track100 awards dinner, held at The Langham Hotel, London, on Tuesday 6th June.
American Golf’s recent £1m upgrade to its stock-control and till systems, handled by retail systems specialists K3, has reduced time spent on deliveries by 75% and enabled the introduction of a customer loyalty card. American Golf has a turnover of £65m in 2005.
The implementation was handled by retail systems specialists K3, the largest Microsoft Dynamics partner in the UK, which implemented the system across the company’s 63 stores in the UK.
The £1,000K end to end solution covers all business functions including a fully integrated EPoS solution, Financials, Inventory Management, Warehousing and Distribution. The system includes head office (60 users) and there will be approximately 2 tills per store. American Golf currently has over 350 employees.
Following a period of expansion, the existing in-store system was no longer meeting American Golf’s business requirements or supporting the growth of the company. K3 was selected to overhaul the IT systems, using solutions based on the award winning software, Microsoft Dynamics.
Ged Gould, American Golf Finance Director commented. “We are thrilled to win this award and are very pleased with our working relationship with K3. We feel we found a supplier who could give us what we needed and helped us grow our bottom line through increasing business efficiency. We now have a system that is at the cutting edge of retail technology and meet the needs of our rapidly expanding business.”
K3’s Sales Director, Paul Makin commented, “We are delighted that American Golf has been honoured with this award. This has been a very successful implementation and the company has seen an immediate benefit to the business following the implementation”.
