ADMIRAL TAVERNS DRINKS TO SUCCESS WITH K3

Didcot, 14th July 2006, Leading pub operator Admiral Taverns, who run over 1,200 pubs in the UK, has selected a new head office solution from K3, Microsoft Dynamics largest partner in the UK.  K3 will supply and implement Microsoft Dynamics Drink-IT software across 30 users.

Due to rapid growth within the business, Admiral Taverns found that it had out grown its existing SAGE based system, as the company struggled to combine rent billing, collecting rent and supplying beer from the same system. Bob Hayden, Finance Director at Admiral Taverns commented “We might as well have been using pen and paper”.

Admiral Taverns chose K3 because of its experience in the hospitality and brewing market.

The company’s IT Manager, Stuart Honour, had previously dealt with K3 while at Avebury Taverns and recommended the company on the back of a very efficient implementation there. The bid went to competitive tender, with K3 winning out on the strength of the team, solution fit and industry knowledge.

The Drink-IT system will improve reporting accuracy across the Admiral Taverns estate, increasing the speed and efficiency with which information can be accessed across the business. The company originally selected three separate systems to run the property management, financials and distribution aspects of the business, but on reviewing the K3 offering decided to opt for the Drink-IT solution which incorporated all three elements in one turnkey solution, with K3 providing bespoke systems tailoring for the rental management aspect of the business.

Commenting on the contract Bob Hayden said “We felt there was good company synergy with the K3 team and although we had to have some aspects of the systems tailored to our specific requirements, which took a little longer for the system to be deployed, we are very pleased with the results”.

Drink-IT, from Helios-IT, is an advanced and modular software program that is intended mainly for producers and distribution centres in the drinks industry, such as breweries, pub companies and distributors. It enables them to monitor and integrate the entire resources flow of the company with only one software solution (ERP package).  A key capability of Drink-IT is its property management module, which enables companies with large estates to efficiently manage maintenance schedules, rents, refurbishments and procurement. Helios-IT have a world class team of Navision professionals dedicated to developing the Drink-IT solution. More than six man years of effort has already gone into developing a highly versatile solution for the beverage industry.

The project is expected to complete in October this year.
